Robert R. Hill Jr. Chief Executive Officer
Robert R. Hill, Jr. serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of SCBT Financial Corporation. He served as COO and President of the bank prior to becoming CEO. Hill is a graduate of The Citadel, and attended the University of South Carolina Graduate School receiving an MBA, along with attending numerous other banking and financial management courses. Hill has been honored as a Top Newsmaker by Charlotte Business Journal, South Carolina Outstanding Young Banker of the Year, one of the top 20 business leaders by The State Newspaper, a Distinguished Young Alumnus by the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, and Outstanding Young Alumni by the USC Alumni Association. Business Week magazine recently profiled Hill as one of 98 CEOs under 40 in the U.S. and 140 CEOs under 40 in the world who run publicly traded companies that are on the NASDAQ or New York Stock Exchange. He has held leadership positions as a board member and/or officer in many different organizations, including: South Carolina Student Loan Corporation, S. C. Bankers Association, Chair of S.C. Bankers School, Central Carolina Community Foundation, S.C. Museum Foundation, the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce, the USC Business Partnership Foundation, and the USC Development Foundation. Hill serves as a Deacon at Eastminster Presbyterian Church.
John F. Windley President of SCBT
John F. Windley is president of South Carolina Bank and Trust, the 4th largest bank headquartered in South Carolina, which is a subsidiary of SCBT Financial Corporation.
Windley, who has 31 years of experience in the banking industry, joined SCBT in 2002 as regional president for SCBT’s Upstate Region. He was later promoted to executive vice president over the Midlands and Upstate Regions and then named president in March of 2006. Windley earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wofford College and is a graduate of Louisiana State University Banking School of the South. A native of Mount Airy, North Carolina, Windley currently resides in Columbia where he is an active member of the community. Windley and his wife Nancy Burns have two children and are members of First Presbyterian Church in Columbia.
John C. Pollok Senior Executive Vice President Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer
John C. Pollok serves as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of SCBT Financial Corporation and South Carolina Bank and Trust. Prior to being named COO, he served as Chief Administrative Officer of the bank. A graduate of The University of South Carolina, Pollok earned a degree in business administration.
Richard C. Mathis Executive Vice President and Treasurer
Richard C. Mathis is Executive Vice President and Treasurer of SCBT Financial Corporation and South Carolina Bank and Trust. Mathis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Presbyterian College in 1973, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is also a graduate of the University of South Carolina’s Moore School of Business, earning an MBA degree in 1981, with Honors. Mathis completed his Professional Certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) in 1986. Additionally, he is a graduate of the American Bankers Association’s Graduate School of Bank Investments and Financial Management. Mathis joined SCBT in 2000 as Chief Financial Officer and, in 2007, he shifted to the position of Chief Risk Officer. Mathis has over 23 years of bank financial management experience. Prior to SCBT, his experience includes approximately 15 years with Wachovia starting as a bond trader and working up to Director of Funds Management. He worked in Columbia, South Carolina with SCN/Wachovia and also served in Winston-Salem, North Carolina as Senior Investment Portfolio Manager for all Wachovia banks. Separately, Mathis was EVP and Chief Financial Officer of M&M Financial Corporation/First National South in Marion, South Carolina. Mathis is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the national CFA Institute and the CFA Society of South Carolina. He was formerly a member of the U.S. Army Reserves, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Joseph E. Burns Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer
With over 30 years of experience in banking, Joe Burns serves as Chief Risk Officer for SCBT Financial Corporation and South Carolina Bank and Trust. Burns joined SCBT in 2000 as Chief Credit Officer and was named senior executive vice president in October 2007. Burns is a graduate of the University of South Carolina where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in banking and finance. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. An active member of the community, Burns is a member of the Board of Visitors for Columbia College and a member of the South Carolina Bankers Association Credit Committee.

Dane H. Murray Division Head, Lowcountry & Orangeburg Regions
Dane H. Murray is Senior Executive Vice President and Regional President for the Lowcountry Region of South Carolina Bank and Trust. Murray joined SCBT in 1971 as a Management Associate in the St. George office. He was later promoted to Branch Manager of the Harleyville office and then moved to the Orangeburg office as a Commercial Lender. Murray launched his regional management career when he moved into the Branch Coordinator position. During his 37 year career, Murray has held several management positions in the bank including Governmental Affairs Officer, Overall Compliance Officer, and Retail Sales Manager before moving into the position of Regional President. An active member of the community, Murray serves on the board of the Certified Financial Training Board for SC and FL, the board of trustees of Voorhees College, and the advisory board of the Orangeburg Calhoun Community Foundation. He also serves on the board of the Independent Bankers Association and was a recipient of the IBA Leadership Award in 2005. He is a member of the St. George Lions Club and the Indian Fields United Methodist Church, where he serves as chairman of the finance committee, and also serves as the chairman of the advisory board of the Orangeburg Area Vocational Rehab Center. A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Murray earned a degree in business administration and management. He is also a graduate of the Louisiana State University School of Banking.

He also serves on the Board of the Oliver Gospel Mission, the Advisory Board of the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and serves as Treasurer of the Southeastern Electric Exchange.
